National Commercial Bank has announced a clarification statement on incorrect information recently published through some media regarding two embezzlement and counterfeiting crimes, the first of which of (€ 29,000,00) twenty-nine million euros value and the second of (L.D 20,000,000) twenty million Libyan dinars value. In its statement, the management of NCB clarified that the first incident dates back to 2010 when the bank telegraphed the value for the account of one of the beneficiaries in FIMBank - Malta before it was clear that the credit document was fraudulent. This was followed by quick measures taken be NCB on the same day, which successfully thwarted the embezzlement attempt. Regarding the second embezzlement attempt, the clarification statement indicated that the process of money transfer from the financial services supervision accounts of Al Zawiya and Gharyan to one of the bank accounts was tracked early, causing the bank no damage or loss.
